We're excited to announce a brand new fundraiser for Alger Matters! The TLC (Trenary, Limestone, Chatham) Farm & Garden Walk invited you to explore eight local farms and private home gardens at your own pace. We appreciate all who attended on that beautiful Sunday!
What to Expect
This was a self-guided, at-your-leisure event. Visitors walked through participating farms and gardens throughout the day, 10:00-5:00, met the owners, and enjoyed the beauty of Alger County’s growing spaces. The farms were: Yooper Country Farm, Pileated Farm, Full Plate Farm and Rock River Farm. Gardens were the Bunce Garden, Moore Garden, Sirois Garden and the We’ll See Garden. Refreshments were offered at each location and some farm products were offered to purchase. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener looking for inspiration or simply want to enjoy a beautiful summer afternoon, there was something for everyone.
Tickets
Tickets were $20 per person and presale tickets were available in Munising at the Falling Rock Cafe and the Roots and Shoots Den at Denman’s Hardware. In Chatham, you could purchase tickets at the Chatham Co-op, Northern Lights Federal Credit Union and Mama Cow’s. Participating farms were selling tickets at their booths at the Marquette Farmers Market on Saturdays mornings, and at the Munising Farmer and Artisan Market on Mondays 4:00-7:00. You could also purchase tickets at each farm or garden on the day of the event for $25.
Supporting Our Mission
All proceeds from the Farm & Garden Walk went directly toward supporting programs and organizations in Alger County, including the annual Barn Dance. Your participation helped us continue creating a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
